Hi snowboarding women…
Here are some hints on choosing a women’s snowboard. Don’t get fooled by intriguing or girly graphics, what matters is a set of technical issues affecting your riding performance:
- The center of gravity is lower in women than in men
- Women’s feet are smaller than men’s
- Women weight less than men (happy to know this?)
Because of these factors, a women’s snowboard is shorter than a men’s. It shows also a narrower waist and a lighter core.
A helpful tool to compute the size of a women’s snowboard is provided by Frosty. You can find it here.

All Mountain Freeride is the most popular type of snowboard. It can be used in any snowboarding environment from all-mountain to halfpipe, and it is designed to float on fresh untouched snow (powder boarding). Snowboarders can do almost everything with an All Mountain Freeride Snowboard, even carving and catching air. The tail of an All Mountain Freeride Snowboard is generally narrower than the tip, so it must be ridden mainly in one direction.
